A weekend adventure at Broughton Island
Callum Rogers shares his recent family adventure aboard the Riviera 72 Sports Motor Yacht on Broughton Island
As part of our recent coastal cruise, our family spent the weekend at Broughton Island aboard our Riviera 72 Sports Motor Yacht.
Located about 8 nautical miles north east of Port Stephens, Broughton Island is only accessible by boat. Beautiful beaches along the coast have long been popular for day and weekend boating trips.
Taking advantage of the seasonally warm September water temperatures, we enjoyed swimming, snorkeling, and exploring walking tracks on shore leading to remote beaches with stunning views.
After catching plenty of snapper and flathead for the evening meal, we settled in overnight to enjoy another enjoyable day exploring the island.
We have participated in high profile fishing tournaments since purchasing the boat and take every opportunity to explore new locations.
Rods were set up for the trip home. A few marlins were lost along the way.
Our family highly recommends Broughton Island as a boating destination and we are planning a return visit soon
